A safari budget needs more than a bed and a game drive. Compare the journey to the park, the accommodation location, meals, entry charges and the actual time you will spend looking for wildlife.
What does Marumo’s Kruger weekend cost?
The current three-day planning range is R8,500–R10,500 per person, on a road-trip basis. This is a starting estimate. Pickup point, vehicle, accommodation, meals, park charges and guided activities must be itemised in your quote; they are not all confirmed inclusions.
Road pickup or airport arrival?
Ask for a named pickup point and estimated travel time, including stops. If you prefer to fly, request a separate flight and transfer quote tied to the lodge and park gate. A flight-led itinerary cannot be assumed to fit the road-trip estimate.
Budget beyond the headline price
- Confirm whether conservation fees apply separately for each day of your visit.
- Check which meals, drinks and game drives are included.
- Allow for travel to the pickup point, personal spending and optional activities.
- Ask about room sharing, single-room costs and child arrangements.
SANParks charges daily conservation fees. Check the official tariff applicable to your travel date and visitor category rather than applying this year’s amount to a 2027 trip.
Make the group plan practical
Agree your preferred pace before choosing the programme. A group looking for early game drives needs different arrangements from travellers mainly wanting a relaxed lodge weekend. Wildlife sightings are never guaranteed.
Before you agree to a quote
Ask for pickup and return details, park or lodge location, room allocation, the number of drives and the final payment deadline. Compare the total cost, not the number of items called “included”.
