A low monthly number is only useful if all payments fit before the final balance is due. Start with the departure date and work backwards, rather than dividing a price by an arbitrary number of months.
When can payments begin?
Marumo plans to open bookings and payments in February 2027, with first departures from April 2027, subject to the required arrangements being in place. These plans do not establish confirmed departures or permission to pay now.
What does the planner assume?
The website planner uses a 15% or 20% deposit, with a minimum deposit of R1,500 capped at the total price. It assumes the remaining balance is due 45 days before departure and places monthly payments after your selected start date. Your confirmed quote and supplier terms may require different dates or amounts.
Why April has a short payment window
For an illustrative 1 April 2027 departure, a 45-day deadline falls on 15 February. Starting on 1 February leaves no monthly anniversary before that deadline. You would need to settle the remaining balance by the deadline rather than spread it over several months.
For an illustrative 24 September 2027 departure, the deadline is 10 August. A 1 February start permits six monthly balance dates, from 1 March to 1 August. Neither example is a confirmed departure.
An example using R20,000
A 20% deposit is R4,000, leaving R16,000. Across six payments, five payments of R2,666.66 and a final payment of R2,666.70 settle that balance exactly. Flights, extra activities or excluded costs would need their own allowance.
Before agreeing to a payment plan
- Confirm the full quote, currency and what is included.
- Check the deposit, dated instalments and final deadline.
- Ask when tickets and rooms become committed.
- Read cancellation, refund and missed-payment terms.
- Confirm how price changes are handled before accepting the quote.
